Indie games worth playing (part 1)
If you don’t know what to play, but want to while away an evening or two playing some indie game, then stock up on some tea and choose from this list the one you like best. Have a nice game 🙂
1. Moonlighter
______________________________________________________________
Game developed by the Spanish team Digital Sun in 2018.
The essence of the game is simple. During the day you manage your store, and at night you explore dungeons. As you progress through this research, you will receive various items that you can then put on the counter of your store. By earning money, the player will improve both the store and the entire village. Interacting with other residents will make your life easier, because other merchants will offer new armor, weapons and various potions.
There is also a minus in this game – the monotony of the dungeons, but you are unlikely to get tired of them.
2. Swords and Souls: Neverseen
______________________________________________________________
This game has gone from an ordinary flash drive to a full-fledged game in your Steam library. Released in the summer of 2019 by Armor Games and developed by SoulGame Studio.
The simple plot tells the story of a hero who, after a shipwreck, finds himself drawn into strange events on the island of Neversin.
Most of the gameplay consists of training to become the strongest hero and destroy all enemies. The second part is battles with these same enemies. As you progress, you will be able to build yourself a house on the island and make friends who will help you in battle.
The game has a small skill tree. You will also be offered new armor and weapons.
The game is worth spending a little time on it (after all, it’s small) and figuring out what’s happening on the island, and who’s behind it all.
3. Flotsam
______________________________________________________________
This survival simulator was developed by the indie studio Pajama Llama Games and is in early access from September 26, 2019.
Building a plastic village in the open ocean is what this game is all about. Develop, upgrade and get resources so that your village becomes a real metropolis on the water.
You will build your village from the garbage you find in the water and at the expense of the people you save along the way. But not only people will help you, but the settlement will also need a seagull.
4. Graveyard Keeper
https://casino-betway.co.uk/bonus/ />______________________________________________________________
This is a simulation role-playing game developed by the Russian development team Lazy Bear Games and published by tinyBuild. It was released in 2018 for Windows and macOS platforms
and Xbox One. And also since 2019, the game is available for Nintendo Switch.
You have to take on the role of a cemetery caretaker. You become this after the main character is hit by a car in modern times and wakes up in the Middle Ages.
The caretaker’s job consists of receiving new arrivals and tidying up the graves. Although the gameplay is not limited to one job in the cemetery
Of the minuses, it is worth noting the unreasonably large map that you will have to travel on.
Although the game received mixed reviews from critics, it is worth checking out for yourself.
5. Stranded Sails
______________________________________________________________
The same game was developed by Lemonbomb Entertainment and was released recently (September 2019).
After the wreck of a ship captained by the protagonist’s father, you and your crew end up on islands unfamiliar to you.
The player will have to gather the whole team, set up a camp, creating a farm, a forge and other things necessary for existence. And also explore the islands surrounding you.
As you progress through the game you will also restore the ship.
6. Blasphemous
______________________________________________________________
This game from the Spanish studio The Game Kitchen was released in 2019. Funds for it were raised on Kickstarter.
The plot of this game tells us about the Penitent – a warrior who took a vow of silence. He fights his enemies with his powerful sword. There is a certain leveling in the game, thanks to which you will receive special abilities. They will make it easier for you to move around the world.
By the way, everything is happening in the camp of Kastodia, which suffered from a Miracle sent from above.
The game was dubbed as Dark Souls in 2D. After all, the style in it is very gloomy and conveys the spirit of Spain during the Inquisition.
I know the list isn’t perfect, but these games are still worth playing. Part 2 will be released soon, which will contain even more worthy indie games.
Moonlighter
Graveyard Keeper
Blasphemous

Either I have become more evil or people are too loyal… In short, a blog listing with SUCH a minimum amount of text about a specific game is, well, a pain. How to get people interested, and not “well, this is such and such a game, it’s fun for everyone”. More meat! More details! Damn these “short blitzes” didn’t give up.To. might intrigue you more with a screenshot. And this is not the merit of the author at all. Add text! =3
Congratulations on your first article! A couple of tips, work with the pictures so that their size and position are the same, it would be nice to put the names of the games in bold and not all games have a genre. From the description you can more or less understand, but it’s better to add it right away so that you can weed out whether the genre is interesting or not. And it’s very informative, I’ve heard about half of the games, not the other half.
Most likely the people are loyal. Personally, I support any endeavors in the Indie direction. There is very little of it on SG, only 5-6 games in Refand once a month. If anyone takes up such blog reviews, I will be happy. =)
Regarding the "meat". I don’t agree. Redok managed to intrigue with a minimum of text and a couple of screenshots. I think this is a very good format for games like this. A full analysis will deprive the lion’s share of the pleasure from getting to know them.
I can recommend Iconoclasts for the next issues (do I need to explain why?), Iji (yes, it’s free), Tokyo Warfare (for those who want arcade rides on tanks), Overgrowth (3D fighting game about hares with a bunch of mods and a good plot), Viscera Cleanup Detail (cooperative cleaner simulator), Nitronic Rush (also free, it also has a sequel to Distance).
I agree that a full-fledged review is not very necessary for a conditional blog indicator, but regarding brevity… here’s a person who wrote about Blasphemous. What is clear about the game? Dark Souls 2D. I’m the only one who thinks this says absolutely nothing? As well as the fact that the game looks like an expensive version of a conventional adventure game from the era of java games and it is impossible to understand what it is.
My point is that this screen gives me more information about the type of game than the text. I’m not talking about the conditional gameplay trailer. The words must be different and must be either weighty or sharp in order to break through the shell of skepticism of the average reader. Ultimately, why don’t people stupidly post “TOP INDIE GAMES”. 1!1" if the author’s format is enough?
And yet, I also want Refand 2.0, who will come out more often and talk about the game a little less, but succinctly. Sometimes you really want to get acquainted with something new =
Yes, it looks very cool text formatting. When you in meaning find places that are worth highlighting. The human mind is so designed that we love to build cause-and-effect relationships, even if they seem banal. This is one of the ways to produce joy hormone.
plus in karma for Iji) A delightful game of its time, unfortunately missed by a wide audience.
In turn, I would like to advise you to write on your blog about Cathedral, a game that has 16 reviews on Steam, but which could easily qualify for Metroidvania of the Year. The same Blasphemous was not even close, well, if we talk about gameplay.
And by the way, moonlighter is basically a crappy game. It is extremely attractive at the beginning, this whole system of selling loot is extremely interesting. But as soon as you understand how to find the optimal price for a product, a book helps with this in which all products are in sections that help determine the price range. Like you see that this crap is between goods that cost 100 and those that cost 1000, and from here you dance. In general, you buy all the upgrades for “tea” that are available, then before moving to the next level of the dungeon you teleport to the city (since at the next level it costs more), you successfully sell everything, return to the dungeon -> repeat until you complete the dungeon. As a result, you have tons of money, you get more “tea” for selling a product than for the product itself. As a result, you buy up everything that is on sale, upgrade the most powerful sword, and the most powerful armor (the rest of the armor makes no sense at all). In short, this mechanic doesn’t work with sales, literally at all. Add to this the monotony of the dungeons themselves, boring bosses (especially the final one) and we get an absolutely passable game, which for the first hours looks almost like a raisin, but then reveals its essence and you lose all interest in it.
